On the omote side you can see sasa - bamboo grass, and the moon, shining through the grass with drops of dew.
The ura side shows three separated leaves of aoi drifting down a stream. As three leaves of aoi are the family crest of Tokugawa, probably such design is a symbol of Tokugawa's shogunate opponents.

On the both sides there is the remind Tatewaku motif (立涌) - An ancient decor made up of double wavy lines which repeat a pattern of narrowing and widening into a bulge before narrowing again. The bulges are often filled with other known motifs. Probably of Chinese origin.

Inscription - 山城國伏見住金家 (Yamashiro (no) Kuni Fushimi (no) Ju Kaneie - Kaneie of Fushimi in Yamashiro Province).
"Saga Kaneie" school.
Age - Edo.
Iron, tsuchime, takabori and zogan with gold and silver.
Kakumaru gata, maru mimi; 6,8 х 6,2 x 0,2 cm.
