Iron tsuba with the blooming clematis (tessen) twined around the tree trunk.
Stems, leaves and the flower are inlaid with different metals, and the tree trunk is made by high relief carving.

Clematis was rated very high because of its beauty. Besides, the inner disc of the blossom resembles a chrysanthemum.
Tessen is written with the kanji idiom of meaning "iron wire". It was named so because of the tendrils, strong like an iron wire.

No inscription. Style - Nara.
Age - Edo. Iron, iroe zogan with copper, gold and silver,
the tree trunk is made using taka bori.
